Laragh Quinney, the custodian, gave us a wonderful talk, revealing the extent and depth of this Scottish treasure trove and displayed a wonderful understanding of what computer searching as well as visits can reveal. She communicated great enthusiasm and prompted many questions - not just on the Balerno and Currie focus of her illustrated talk, but also of the Scottish, UK and wider maps including Middle Earth and the Moon! 180,000 high resolution digitised maps are available for copying or purchase at 159 Causewayside, Edinburgh - www.nls.uk.  A fascinating and enlightening talk of modern access to old and new maps.
