PeaceJam is a Rotary International initiative that has been operating for 20 years across the globe. This will be the 4th PeaceJam conference to be organised for the South of England here in Winchester.
The conferences are always built around Nobel Peace Laureates, and they aim to inspire the young people attending to contribute towards "One Billion Acts of Peace" .
This year the Nobel Peace Laureate who is the keynote speaker and mentor is Tawakkol Karman from Yemen.
As in recent years, Rotary in Basingstoke is sponsoring 35 youngsters aged 15-18 from Basingstoke & Deane to attend the 2 day conference.
