Rotary Youth Speaks Competition

The annual local heat of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition was held at St. Brigid School, Denbigh on the evening of the 25th of January


The annual local heat of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition was held at St. Brigid School, Denbigh on the evening of the 25th of January, where a total of five teams took part. There were two teams competing for the Intermediate prize, one from St Brigid and one from , Denbigh. In the Senior category, there were a total of three teams aiming for the top prize, two from (team 1 and team 2) and one from St Brigid. The winners of each category will go forward to the district round which will be held at The Catrin Finch Centre, Glyndwr University, Wrexham on the 2nd of March. 

Judges for the evening were Mike Baker and Adelle Thomas and the MC was Rotarian Gwilym Williams.                       

The Rotary Club of Denbigh would like to thank all who took part at this event and we congratulate the winners as follows: 

Intermediate winners - St Brigid School (no photo available at present)

Senior winners - Myddelton College Team One of Larrisa Martin, Gabe Maelor-Prichard and Keeley Ruane

Top Speaker of the evening - Keely Ruane of Myddelton College

The local heat of the Rotary Young Musicians contest was held at Myddelton College on the 18th January with the winners of the Instrumental Section Taya Paris Castley, and Vocal Section Erin Swyn Williams going on to compete in the District Final at Poulton Hall, Bebbington. The judges on the night were Adelle Thomas and Eleri Watkin with the MC being Rotarian Gwilym Williams.

Again we congratulate the winners of this competition and wish them all well in the forthcoming District heats.
