Rotary’s Group 2 Young Chef Competition

.

Fridays’ first stage of the Rotary’s Group 2 Young Chef competition, held at the Escoffier Restaurant in Bournemouth & Poole College, went very well with one of our two students (namely Megan) from The Grange achieving the ‘1st Runner Up’ prize.

Both Megan and Tamzin worked very hard to produce seriously impressive menus with restaurant quality results.

Prizes were awarded as follows:-

WINNER - KIAN JOHNSON OF OAK ACADEMY
1st Prize - The opportunity to shadow chefs in AFC Bournemouth’s first team pavilion kitchen, £40 Amazon Gift Card and Winner Certificate
1ST RUNNER UP - MEGAN SKIRTH OF THE GRANGE SCHOOL
2nd Prize - £30 Amazon Gift Card and Runner Up Certificate

2ND RUNNER UP - ELLIE BROWN (3rd from right) - BOURNEMOUTH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS

The next stage is for the Winner and 1st Runner Up to go on to the Young Chef District Competition in Waterlooville on 03 March 2018.

Awards for the next stage are provided by one of Rotary’s Business Partners: Harvest Fine Foods. A fine example of how Rotary can utilise its business partners and how business partners can enjoy being involved in benefiting their community. Prizes will include:

- Provision of small cookery books that will be given to all those who enter the District competitions
- Provision of Aprons for all those in the District Competition
- Provision of three prizes to be awarded at the District competition
