SOUTHERN COTSWOLDS ROTARY YOUNG MUSICIAN COMPETITION

The Finals at Westonbirt School.


As always - a really great event.

The talent just gets better year after year.

The overall wnner was Timothy Mitchell, from Castle School, Thornbury, playing the clarinet.

Second, Lizzie O'Brian,  also from Castle School playing violin, and third Simon Crew from Cirencester College on guitar.

The Hughes prize for best string player was also awarded to Lizzie, whilst the Fred Perkin Troph went to Alexander Kirby from Marling School, also playing guitar.

A  big thank you to the judges - Christopher Swain,  Derek Barnes and Johhny Bath; 

      to Westonbit School for so kindly hosting the event; 

      and to the Competition Sponsors - Bear Street Garage,   Rover European Travel

                  Don and Enid Lewis,  Jan Lawry.
