What a great start to the Year of the Youth, with our club round of the Young Musician of the Year Competition, held tonight in Selkirk High School, music department. Instrumental talent was abundant with piano, flute and saxophone and we were spoilt with both classical and modern vocals.
Chief adjudicator Heather McInally gave very constructive comments back to each contestant before presenting the prizes to (vocals) 1st Milly Coltherd, runner up Zara Elliot, Instrumental, 1st Benjamin Maybury, (saxophone) runner up Samuel Johnston (piano). Milly and Benjamin go onto the Area finals on the 23rd February.
Presentations were made to Audrey Wood and Jean Marks for their service to this event, they have supplied the refreshments for many years and have now decided it's time to sit and enjoy the performances, thanks for all your help ladies.'What We Do' Main Pages:
