Robert S. summarised a year in which membership increased by four and two Paul Harris Foundations were awarded to Marian and to Gideon Scott. The Club had a very successful year in a donations of over £20,000 were made to a number of charities at home and abroad including Demelza, Open Your Heart to Bhutan and Shelterboxes. Walk4Water had raised £3,000 which will be match funded in the Netherlands while car parking had raised nearly £3,200. The Club had also been active locally with gardening and Christmas decorations at the Whitstable and Tankerton Hospital and the presentation of dictionaries to children at Swalecliffe Primary School. The Christmas food collection and the TWAM collection have both become increasingly successful. It had also been a good year socially while the friendship with our Dutch colleagues at Apeldoorn became increasingly close. Robert concluded by thanking Gill, the members and the Board for their support during his year as President. He then presented flowers to Pat the incoming President and to Gill.
