RFE DISTRICT 7850 VISIT 29TH MAY - 2nd JUNE 2018

As you all are aware American Rotarian visitors from District 7850 are being hosted jointly by our club and the Rotary Club of Market Harborough over the dates above.  Many months ago all members were asked for a show of hands and you agreed to support this event.  A detailed programme has now been finalised and is attached.  You will be able to attend the majority of the visits/events on the programme  and are encouraged to so do whenever possible as assistance with transporting the visitors to the various locations will help to reduce the commitment of the hosts. 

The car museum has proven to be very popular in the past and is open to all members, friends etc, as there is no limit on the number of attendees

In particular, please try to attend the joint meeting with the RFE visitors and the Rotary Club of Market Harborough on Wednesday 30th May 2018 as this will present an opportunity to meet the visitors and hear a short presentation on their Rotary District and Clubs therein.

You are all invited [with partners] to the final evening that will be a ‘pop in’ drinks and nibbles evening chez Calvert.  Live entertainment has been booked and if everyone brings something to nibble and something to drink the cost to each member will be minimal.  

This letter is sent on behalf of President Stephen who, as you know, is currently overseas but he has previously confirmed his personal support for this visit and encourages all members to be involved whenever possible.

In view of the lack of ordinary meetings over the next 3-4 weeks please email back, or telephone, to indicate which events you wish to attend and whether you are willing to offer transport to and from the host addresses [Roger Calvert, Brian Godfrey, Michael Smith]

	10.00am Rockingham Castle Private Guided Tour and visit to gardens [weather permitting]  [£14.00 per person]	10.00am  Guided tour of Oakham Castle followed by introduction to  ‘Medieval Manners’ [A fun look at table manners, cooking etc and a pottery quiz all held at a banqueting table. [£5]	09.30am  Visit to Foxton Locks and Museum                        11.00am  Canal Trip on the Vagabond for 1 hour [£3-£5 depending on numbers]
12.30pm Transfer from previous hosts at Kilworth Springs Golf Club.  Light lunch for hosts and RFE visitors	13.00pm  Light lunch at the Sondes Arms, Rockingham	12.30pm  Lunch at Barnsdale Gardens Cafe	12.45pm  Lunch in the upstairs room at the Waterfront Restaurant, Market Harborough

	19.30 Joint meeting with Market Harborough and RFE visitors at the Angel Hotel, Market Harborough [£16.50 per person]	Evening with hosts	This will be a ‘bring a plate’ and a bottle style drinks and nibbles event for those who wish to ‘pop in’.  Live entertainment will be provided.
			RFE visitors depart 2nd June 2018
