Role of Club
PR, Media and Communications Officer
Public Relations:
- To maintain and increase the positive image of the club maximising opportunities to promote the activities of the club to the local community thus raising awareness of the benefits of Rotary to the community and attracting new members.
- To advise the President and convenors of club committees on strategies for publicising club activities and events.
- To liaise with District and Rotary GB&I PR directors when necessary.
Media:
- To establish and develop contact with local (and when necessary national) media such as press, local radio and television and supply them with information about the club's activities including articles and pictures suitable for publication on a regular basis.
- To supply local press with regular reports of club meetings.
- To act as media liaison with all local and national media in the promotion of and during major club events.
- To supply Rotary press and/or electronic media with information and articles on the club's activities to maintain the profile of the club within Rotary and provide items of interest to Rotarians throughout the UK and, on occasion, worldwide.
Communications:
- To support the club webmaster by regularly supplying her/him with suitable material for inclusion on the site and on social media covering meetings and activities of the club and promoting club functions and events.
- To advise the President and convenors of club committees on communications matters.
