Wadebridge Rotary Club presents a cheque to Mind Restormel

Dr Maureen Newman, chief executive of Mind Restormel Association for Mental Health, spoke at the Wadebridge Rotary Club meeting on 24th August.   Restormel Mind helps adults with mental health problems to improve their wellbeing and self-esteem, and increase their confidence.   It helps people to return to paid employment or volunteering when appropriate.   It offers a range of services in Bodmin, St Austell, Newquay and St Columb Minor to help people to improve their sense of wellbeing.   It is open to anyone with mental health problems, whether with a formal diagnosis or not.

One of the projects is “Soil to Soup”, where members can create their own space in a garden in Bodmin, growing flowers or vegetables, either on their own or sharing with others.   Dr Newman said that the funds from Wheels were earmarked for this project.

Members of the Wheels committee, Nigel Davey and Tim Lunt, and the  club president, Kevin Smith, presented a cheque for £5,000 to Dr Newman
