£1000 raised for building work in Kenya

A concert at Crowhurst Village Hall raised a roof on Saturday, 21st October. Fortunately Storm Brian was not involved, only money! Local and Sussex acts performed on stage at the hall in front of an audience of about 100 people to help raise funds for the Rotary Club of Senlac’s Yellowmen charity. Master of Ceremonies, poet Brian Moses, introduced the concert with a poem and was joined by  Chris Fisher for a song before welcoming solo and group acts. The packed audience were able to listen to and join in as the evening progressed. The groups were Coleplay2, Folkstack Lightnin’ and the Eastbourne based Old Town Blues Band. The solo artistes were Fion, a classical guitarist, Steve Royston, Karen Moses, Ed Boxall and James Morris.

Yellowmen organiser, Senlac Rotarian Eddie McCall, said, “It was fantastic. Thanks to the generosity of the performers and the audience we have raised about £1000 which will enable us to put a roof on a building in the Kenyan village that we work in. This is the fifth concert, the first raised a roof in Kenya and the proceeds of the other concerts were used for other projects in the area”.
