Rtn Jim McWhirter Uganda Project

Thu, Aug 24th 2017 at 7:00 pm - 9:45 pm

Jim will bring us up to date on a Rotary project in Uganda

When asked for a little background, Jim said:

"I worked for 25 years as a GP in Nettlebed.

I joined Rotary in 2007. I retired in 2008 and volunteered for Rotary Doctor Bank. I worked at Kamuli Mission Hospital in Uganda, running the maternity ward for a total of 6 months spent over three years.
I have carried out two major grant projects and am now helping to support a network of 24 rural mission hospitals.

At home I help to run a good neighbour scheme in my village and I work in Citizens Advice as a volunteer."

He was a speaker at the last District Conference.
