Proposals 2017 - 2018

For 2017/18 our team propose to :-

• Continue to maintain the Rotary Garden at Whitchurch Library

• Continue to plant and maintain the quadrangle garden at Bryn Celyn school

• Apply for a District Grant for Garden benches

• Support Tongwynlais Primary school

• Present Dictionaries4Life and Encyclopedias to pupils at Tongwynlais, Bryn Celyn Primary schools and the Court school

• Assist with reading at both Grangetown and Bryn Celyn Primary schools

• Organise bucket collections in December with musical accompaniment and carol singing at Sainsburys Colchester Avenue

• Continue support for the Paradise Run, the Huggard Centre and Northlands Life House (Salvation Army) with monthly donations of food, clothing and household essentials

• Continue to support and distribute Message in a Bottle

• Work jointly with Cardiff Llanishen Rotary Club to plant 5000 purple crocuses at suitable Cardiff locations including Whitchurch Primary School in support of Rotary’s eradicate polio campaign

• Provide continued support for The Den (formerly Men’s Sheds)

• Continue to support and contribute to the Whitchurch & Tongwynlais Festival and Fete, including running the Duck Race and manning a tombola stall.

• Apply for a District Grant to support the re-introduction of street planter displays in Whitchurch

• Review requests for support from worthy causes and individuals and make recommendations accordingly

• Lead a cross Club initiative to explore how best to support Dementia within the local Community
