Holiday Golf Competition - Minto Golf Club at 5.30 pm

The Club's annual golfing competition, at Minto Golf Club. Separates the weekly players from those who never lift a club! Golfers to be at Minto Golf Club for 5.30 pm. Meal afterwards at Minto at 7.00 for 7.30 pm.


The Rotary Club were fortunate to get two of the best evenings of the summer for their sports nights.  The bowling was held at Wilton Bowling Club green at West Stewart Place and in a keen contest Kerr Scott, Billy McWatters and Mairhi Trickett were victorious with the runners up being Robin Mason, Ron Sutherland and Scott Elliot.  The club are indebted to the bowling club for hosting the event and the members retired to the Mansfield House Hotel for a meal.
Last Thursday it was golf at Minto Golf Course when a Texas Scramble was held the victors being Tommy Mulvee, Iain Smith and Ron Sutherland with the runners-up being Sandy Bannerman, Ian Welch and David Oliver.  A golf dice tournament was held after the meal which was won by Jack Swanston who beat Scott Elliot in the final.  The Rotary Club were grateful to Minto Golf Club for holding the event and providing a meal.   President Scott Elliot gave a special welcome to Honorary member Ian Welch and Bobby Cairns on his return from a major operation.
