Every year tournaments allowing budding inventors to test their skills are held throughout Rotary GB&I which are accredited by The British Science Association.
Tournaments are a challenging but enjoyable experience for all participants. It’s an interesting and fun day out which tests the knowledge, ingenuity, innovation, application and manual skills of the team members and their ability to work as a team.
This competition is open to young people aged 17 or under on the 31st August 2020 and is split into three age categories:
Teams of 4 students interested in engineering and science, usually from schools or colleges, are challenged to design, develop, build and test a solution to an unknown technical challenge, using materials supplied, against the clock, in a one-day event which usually takes place in a large school or civic hall.
The task(s) are consistent with the requirements of the national curriculum and its execution develops team building, communication skills, planning and time management, as well as solving a design and technology problem.
