2008 FTSE Week Four Results
Another exciting week!! One pundit who has been in the finance business for 40+ years said that he had never experienced a week like it. Someone else described it as a "stomach crunching week".
It certainly was a seesaw week as the FTSE 100 dived and soared. Down as low as 5500 points and yet finishing the week only 38 points down at 5869. Even on Friday the FTSE 100 rose by 100 points at one stage but finished down 6.8 points on the day. Imperial Tobacco Group gained over 9%, British Energy and Kazakhmys rose by more than 5% on the day
