2008 FTSE Week One Results
Wow, what a start to 2008!! The FTSE 100 has shed no less than 250 points at 2206.4.
The banking sector has suffered badly as has retail with the notable exceptions of Sainsbury's and Kingfisher. Even oil stocks did not escape unscathed. The freeze on interest rates this week at 5.5% did not help.
There are only eight of our investors showing a profit for the period. They must be congratulated given the performance of the FTSE 100. Ken Cowe and Alastair Durkie lead the way head and shoulders above the rest. However, there is a long way to go and a lot can happen over a three month period as we saw last year.
What will next week bring?
