54th  CHURCHILL  COMMEMORATION  DINNER

                    

We are pleased to advise you that the 54th Churchill Commemoration Dinner will be held on Tuesday 21st November, 2017.  We are delighted that our Speaker and Guest of Honour this year will be the Viscount De L’Isle, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent.

The Viscount De L’Isle MBE was Commissioned in the Grenadier Guards in 1966, between 1974-76 he held an operational staff appointment at Headquarters, 3 Infantry Brigade, and was awarded an MBE, retiring with the rank of Major in 1977 to manage the family estate at Penshurst Place. He chaired The Kent Country Landowners Committee from 1983-85.  Appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in Kent 1996, Vice Lord-Lieutenant 2001 and Lord-Lieutenant 2011; ex-officio he holds a number of Patronages and Presidencies of Kent charities.  He was married to Isobel in 1983 and has one son, one daughter and a granddaughter.

The Dinner will be held at Park Wood Golf Club, Chestnut Avenue, Tatsfield, Westerham, Kent, TN16 2EG.  Tel 01959 577744 where, as you may know, we have had great success with previous Churchill Dinners.  As usual it will be the traditional meal of Farmhouse Pate, Roast Beef and Apple pie and custard.

TIMING:  6.45 for pre-dinner drinks, dinner commencing 7.30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE NEW TIME

DRESS:  Black tie. The wearing of Decorations, medals and Rotary regalia is optional.

There will be a voluntary draw with all proceeds being donated to Rotary charities. The ticket price of £43.00 includes a voluntary contribution of £6.00, which may attract gift aid.
