Club administration traffic lights

The first Wednesday of every month, all club members meet to decide on progress of current projects and what to do next.

The first Wednesday - more or less - the club meets after our communal meal to check on progress for current projects and to see if there's anything else we can do to help the community - both locally and a bit beyond.

At the moment, we're doing a lot of fundraising for Steka, the project in Malawi to help ex-street children who are now growing up and need to gain the skills they need to support themselves, and, in due course, their own families.

But we're also helping closer to home, with projects like collecting wellingtons for Gorgie City Farm, cleaning up litter or distributing leaflets to raise awareness for a new community project.

Some clubs have a separate committee for all of this - but at Portobello, we believe that everyone has a part to play in helping their local community, so these meetings are open to all members who wish to attend.
