Talk: Parkinson's Disease

Mon, Mar 19th 2018 at 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

An excellent presentation on Parkinson's Disease by Beatrice Shire and a cheque donation by the Club.

Beatrice (seen centre above) is chair of the local branch (Canterbury and District) of Parkinson's UK. She has been a member and committee member for over 20 years and used to run a Welfare Team before safeguarding stopped amateurs doing that. She has been a 'Volunteer Educator' giving talks and literature to care staff in homes and agencies and been responsible for winning with Reims Parkinson, which involves a visit to or from them each year.

Chris Jackson, President of the Forest of Blean Rotary Club was very pleased to be able to present a cheque for £3000 to the local Parkinson UK branch from funds collected from the public over the past year.
