ROTARY 'KIDS OUT' TO MARWELL ZOO

Great fun was had by all - children and helpers.

Kids Out at Marwell Zoo.                                          A Great Day Out.

"George and Anne Stephens, Tim Richardson, Dave Smith and Christine Brown were waiting in the already hot sunshine as the Abbotswood School minibus arrived at Marwell Zoo. The 13 children and 3 support assistants, all wearing Kids Out T-shirts, were looking forward to a fun-filled day.

By lunchtime we had all seen most of the larger animals including cheetah, rhino, giraffe and a tiger. The children enjoyed their picnic lunch, which was followed by a visit to the adventure play area. We then enjoyed watching the antics of the meerkats before visiting the study centre. Before heading back to the minibus, everyone took great pleasure in choosing an ice cream to cool themselves down.

As the Rotarians waved goodbye, the minibus drove off with the children singing ‘The Wheels on the Bus!’

We have since had feedback from the school thanking us for treating the children to a wonderful day out. They apparently hadn’t stopped talking about it!"
