Scottish Schools Athletics Association Indoor Championships

Lucy Davison, of Morrison’s Academy, Crieff, is this year’s winner of the trophy for the best performance at the Indoor Championships of the SSAA. She is the top-ranked Scot at u17 in the Pentathlon and Long Jump, is second only to an athlete two years her senior in the Shot Putt, and has represented Scottish Schools at the Annual Pentathlon International. She was part of the Scottish Schools team at the Schools International Athletics Board International last year.

The creation of the trophy, made of granite from Ailsa Craig, was made possible through the support of a Rotary member. Following the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014,   Rotarians were keen to establish a means of encouraging the next generation of young athletes. The three Scottish Rotary Districts have sponsored the SSAA since 2015 and now support the Outdoor as well as the Indoor Championships.

Lucy was presented with the trophy on behalf of Rotary in Scotland,  by Crieff Rotary President, Chris Dowse.
