The Steamie

Wed, Oct 11th 2017 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Steamie live at the Macrobert.

Come and celebrate the 30th anniversary of Scotland’s most loved play!

It’s Hogmanay in a Glasgow wash house, and the girls need to get their washing done before the bells. Join Dolly, Magrit, Doreen and Mrs Culfeathers as they laugh and cry their way through the last day of the year – with a little help from the not so handy Andy.

First performed in May 1987, The Steamie has delighted and entertained audiences all over the world. Writer Tony Roper directs this new 30th anniversary touring production - get your tickets now before it sells out!
REVIEWS

‘The play has a kind of hilarious perfection’ - THE SCOTSMAN

‘The Steamie gives an unashamedly nostalgic view of Glasgow’s past, yet its strength is that it brings the wash house women to life without getting dewy-eyed’ - THE GUARDIAN
