Our 12th Annual Technology Tournament

Here are a few photos from our highly successful 12th annual Technology Tournament.

Once again this was held with the fabulous support of Austin-Friars School in Carlisle and this year saw arecord number of schools and teams taking part.

This years challenge was to design and build a pipe crawler to move debris from a pipe.

We were joined by Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Chairman of Carrs in Carlisle Chris Holmes DL and by the Mayor and Mayoress of Carlisle Cllr Colin & Mrs Stothard.  Again our Chief Judge this year is Mr Stuart Gorman of Sellafield Ltd who was in the winning Key Stage 5 team on our very first Technology Tournament in Carlisle.

Past President and Assistant Governor Brian White said "This really is what Rotary is about. Watching these young people putting their engineering skills to work is fantastic. And the support we get from major industry in the area is priceless."

President Andrew Meggs said "These young people are our future and by Rotary staging events such as this it gives a fantastic outlet to showcase their extraordinaty talents. And it's a lot of fun for us too"
