We enjoyed a sequence of hilarious - and sometimes serious - anecdotes from Alan. These covered his police career from a rooky in Middleton-in-Teesdale (a long way out for a lad from Sunderland) to his role as Inspector in Darlington.
We also took the opportunity to present a Norman Richardson Award to Charlotte Stephenson from the Hermitage Academy in Chester-le-Street to support her on an evironmental studies trip the Honduras.
Charlotte receives her cheque from President Pauline while Community Service Chairman Martin Leake looks on.
