Job Talk - Kinley Macdonald .

Raffle - Alistair Rarity.

Reception - Iain Fairbairn / Alistair Rarity.

On Thursday 20th April the Rotary Club of South Queensferry enjoyed a job talk from new member Kinley McDonald. Originally from Lossiemouth, Kinley achieved a biology degree at Aberdeen and a mathematics degree from the OU before settling on a career in IT. Memories of punched cards and the huge early computers struck a chord with many members. As an IT manager with the Ministry of Defence, Kinley had several postings in the UK, Gibraltar and Germany, including an interesting spell in West Berlin working on intelligence and security programmes before the wall came down. He spent time in the Pitreavie bunker and at HMS Northwood (a headquarters in North London) before his final posting to Glasgow. He then joined the NHS and oversaw the move of Grampian Health Board to self-funding status. An eighteen-month spell at a Newcastle NHS Trust took Kinley to retirement. Kinley has two daughters. He lives with his wife Katrina in South Queensferry and enjoys hill walking. A member of the driving team at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Kinley hopes to volunteer again at the next games.

Kinley McDonald was introduced by Alistair Rarity. The vote of thanks was proposed by Richard Brown.
