This is my third half marathon fund-raise. First Athens, then Lisbon last year and this year Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Training in Wollaton in the Winter isn’t much fun so it’s nice to end up somewhere warm. I choose one of the club’s good causes. Last year it was Dolly Parton's Imagination Library who support children's literacy in Nottingham and this year it is Emmanuel House who need no introduction to the club and do a marvellous job supporting the homeless in Nottingham without any statutory funding. I won’t be bringing any records home, even for 74-year-olds. In-fact last year the support team had gone off sight- seeing by the time I got to the finishing line. But if you have got any spare change left from Christmas then I would be grateful for a donation. You can email me a pledge at jamesthornhill@thornhvac.co.uk and I will collect it later or if you prefer you can go to Mydonate.com and search for James Thornhill in the fundraisers box or this link will take you straight to it.
