Fellowship Event & Charity Fundraiser

This year's Sportsmans Dinner will be held on Friday 24th February (7 pm for 7:30 pm) at the Irvine Sports Club.  The main speakers will be Willie Henderson and Brian McGinlay.

Willie Henderson is a retired Scottish football player. He played most of his career for Rangers, and spent the latter part of his career with

Sheffield Wednesday, in Hong Kong with Hong Kong Rangers and with Airdrieonians. He was a prolific winger. He also featured at international level for Scotland.  Henderson made his career debut in 1960 at the age of 16. During his time with Rangers he won two Scottish league championships, the Scottish Cup four times and the League Cup twice.

Brian McGinlay is a retired football referee from Scotland, who officiated in 98 European club competition and international matches. At the domestic level

McGinlay has refereed 21 Old Firm derbies, during which he never sent off a player, but he considers his most nerve-racking match to be the Rangers - Aberdeen title decider match at the climax of the 1990–91 season. In European club football he judged his most exciting match to be the Real Madrid–Borussia Mönchengladbach third-round second-leg UEFA Cup match.  In international football he has taken charge of matches at the 1980 European Championships, the Home Championship and the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Tickets priced £30 can be obtained from any club member.
