Feb 2017 Peter Pilbeam - Endangered Species

Mon, Feb 20th 2017 at 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Speaker Host - Naoum Tsolakis, Guest Host - Sian, Cashier - Paul Dover

Tonight our interesting speaker was Peter Pilbeam - a specialist in Citizen Science.  He talked about a passion of his - surveying for endangered species (particularly snow leopards and Sumatran tigers), why it's done, and whether that will help in stopping their extinction. He hopes that awareness of the dwindling biodiversity of the planet will be held back by those involved in similar studies.

His thoughtful talk inspired many insightful questions from his audience.

Tonight our Meal (menu 3) is followed by our Speaker.

Our Quiz Master Vicky circulated a brief Rotary themed 20 questions - our surprise winner Secretary Sian won a lovely bottle of wine !
