Santa Dash 2016

World Champion team

For several years our group of jolly Rotarians has entered the Liverpool Santa Dash. This year was no exception. Admittedly some fit the Santa outfit better than others; perhaps more training is required!

Arriving in Liverpool on what turned out to be a glorious day was a spectacle never before witnessed by myself. Thousands of people of all shapes, sizes and conditions of aerobic ability arrived in red and blue Santa outfits. We stayed with tradition and adored the red suit, it was more comfortable than I expected and being a synthetic did keep you rather warm when running.

On the subject of running, our current President encouraged us on with her backpack allegedly filled with beer. For Colin and myself this seemed to be a very well planned tactic and helped us finish much quicker than we might have otherwise.

The most spectacular part of the event was the run over the flyover; the elevation revealed what I would describe as a river of red. The thousands taking part this year enabled the Liverpool Santa Dash 2016 to become the world's largest event of it's kind.

To my fellow World Champions, thank you for an incredible day.
