Nov 2016 Yaxley Infant School £518 fundraising for Naalarami

Tue, Nov 29th 2016 at 9:30 am - 10:30 am

wonderful funds from 2 school projects

Today Mike and Sian had been invited along to talk to the 130 children of Yaxley Infant School and were delighted to recieve a cheque for £518.  The children had taken part in two projects - Blue Jumper Day and Water Day - and raised this wonderful amount especially for the Cambridge South Rotary Club Naalarami Primary School Project.

This international Project starts Phase 2 in January 2017.

The Naalarami village and school is two hours across the bush from Arusha the nearest town.

They were very interested in know how the children in Tanzania survive with so much heat and sun and so little water.  The lack of football boots and nice toilets concerned them a lot.

The staff were very supportive and very keen on the idea of establishing a link with the school, first by sending letters and pictures between them and then perhaps video links, when the solar panels are installed. What a great development that would be !

Thank You Yaxley !!
