Talk by Geraint Griffiths

ROTARY CLUB OF RHYL An absorbing cornucopia of stories, drawn from a select amalgam of personal and historical events and recollections was recounted in a fascinating talk to members by speaker Past President Geraint Griffith, at the club’s meeting at Faenol Fawr. Introduced by Past President Gareth Wynne Jones, the speaker, himself a noted retired geography and history teacher and university lecturer, took his rapt audience on a riveting journey down memory lane as he highlighted incidents and personalities of enduring significance and relevance for him. Spread across several centuries and each distinctly different in time, location and emotional impact, the common thread was the recalling of each event in turn during solitary walks, proving the truth that one never needs to walk alone. The warm thanks of the club for so graphically conveying the impact of memories that had come flooding back, were conveyed by President Rod Brocklehurst, who said yet again the speaker had shown his gift for hitting precisely the right note.
