Cash from Trash

Club Council have given me approval to seek your assistance in a recycling initiative that gives cash to worthy causes, in this case the Mission to Seafarers. I described this to the Club on the 4th and received the support of those present.

The Mission has 100 centres at major ports around the World, providing comfort, contact facilities, support in illness or bereavement and help to ship-wrecked or stranded seafarers. It is a worthy cause and, like all charities it is in need of support.

In collaboration with a recycling firm in Falkirk the Mission has a scheme whereby discarded mobile phones and laser printer cartridges can be recycled, resulting in a cash contribution to the Mission.

I will create an account for the Club. If you are able to contribute discarded mobile phones or laser cartridges it will be much appreciated.

If you bring these to our meetings then either Alex Imrie or I will ensure onward transmission. If our collection is at all successful we hope to extend it to the other clubs in the area.
I hope that you can support this initiative.

Yours in Rotary,
Willie Halcrow
