Thursday 18 March saw the completion of the 7th year of the Rotary Club of West Fife primary schools quiz competition , which was held in the excellent venue of Crossford Primary School and attended by some 150 people, including the nine school teams and parents, eager to gain the Bank of Scotland coveted trophy.
The result was decided over nine rounds of the competition with no need for a tie-breaker round, when SALINE Primary School emerged as clear winners scoring 94 points [87%] closely followed by Cairneyhill

[90 points] and then Crossford [89 points]. In round eight there was nothing in it with the ninth Science & Technology round leading to the winners who will now go on to the Zone final at St Andrews on 24 April.

Certificates were presented by Junior Vice President Ken Richards to all teams and reserves, together with the Trophy & winners certificates to the Saline team.

Anne Black Class Teacher from Saline had made a magnificent job of preparing the team and we wish them well in the Zone final.

Thanks go to Mrs Ann Parker Depute Head of Crossford and all staff for the preparation work at the school and to all the teachers and pupils for their effort this year.

Support for our Rotary Quiz Master Graham Watson came from Scorer David Bruce, Markers Douglas Reid and Stephanie Blackden, aided by Derrick Marks and Neil Spriddle.

Special thanks are due to Donald MacKay and his staff in Midlothian for setting the questions. The use of a power-point presentation seemed to help the evening and led to less pressure on the quiz master as well as helping all parents at the back of the hall. It is hoped this will continue next year.
