Following to distribution of donations to local charities at the annual presentation awards on 24th August 2016, Linda Fearn, acting President, announced the winner of this year’s Wendy Cocker Award for Endeavour. Lynda presented the trophy to the deserving winner, Ollie Jeffs, the Project manager at the Pelham Community Hub. Ollie was surprised and delighted to have been presented with the trophy.

Ollie was originally one of the construction workers on the refurbishment of The Pelham Hotel after it had been bought by the Pelham Trust to be developed as a Community Hub for the people in the Sidley area. Ollie was later appointed the Project Manager and has overseen the introduction of the coffee lounge, the construction of a meeting area with toilets and showers, and a kitchen used both for preparation of snacks and for training of people with little or no cooking skills. He will oversee the development of the other parts of the Pelham which will include more meeting and training rooms as well as a temporary shelter for vulnerable people. The Pelham Trust is a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Trust).
