Working with Children-Nepal to support education and family welfare

Although the majority of the Club's activities are related to local causes, we are always ready to meet the challenge in times of crisis or disaster outside of the UK. Much of our 'international' effort is focused towards the Aquabox project, which provides safe drinking water and humanitarian aid following natural or man-made disasters.

We do also support a small number of international projects and charities including:

  • Children-Nepal - the work of Children-Nepal in promoting the welfare and development of children is an important part of the club’s support of Nepal, complementing the work of Aquabox.
  • Tools With A Mission - TWAM enables people to earn a living and to support themselves, through the provision of a wide range of tools, sewing and knitting machines and haberdashery.
  • Vision Aid Overseas -Vision Aid Overseas runs a nationwide spectacle collection scheme which operates to raise money for transforming access to eye care in developing countries.
  • Yorkshire Tea Bar Code Programme - the collection of bar codes from Yorkshire Tea products which enable the Wheelchair Foundation UK to purchase wheelchairs for use in countries around the world. So far over 50 wheelchairs have now been sponsored through this scheme nationwide.
