The Wirksworth Rotary Club aims to serve the local community by running a number of projects and activities which benefit the people of Wirksworth and the surrounding area and at the same time raise money for selected local causes and charities.

Our community activities include:

  • Memory Cafe - it meets on the second Monday of every month at the Wellspring Church in Wirksworth from 2pm to 4pm, providing a safe and stimulating environment for people living with dementia. New members are always very welcome.

  • Well Dressing - a team of Wirksworth Rotary Club members and their spouses and friends design and decorate a Well Dressing as part of the Wirksworth Carnival celebrations in May.

  • Plant & Bulb Sales - our very successful annual plant sale is held in May in the Wirksworth Memorial Hall, followed by a sale of bulbs in the Autumn in time for planting for the next Spring.

  • Christmas Festivities - each year we erect and light the Christmas tree in Wirksworth Market Square, and our Santa Sleigh makes a number of appearances around the town and nearby villages giving children the chance to meet Santa.
