Carer Support Wiltshire

Carer Support Wiltshire aims to create carer friendly communities where carers are recognised, valued and supported.

According to the 2011 Census, there are 47,500 unpaid carers.

Carer Support Wiltshire helps 12,000 of them. Collectively, these Wiltshire carers save the economy around £961million a year. In Royal Wootton Bassett, Purton & Cricklade there are 2,952 unpaid carers of which CSW currently helps 551.

CSW has launched a Time for Carers Appeal to raise £25K in 2017 to help buy the small things in life that give carers a break.
  • 1 in 3 carers never have an evening or a weekend break from their caring role.
  • 1 in 3 carers feel guilty about taking a break or having a holiday.
  • 1 in 3 carers said they didn’t want others to “fuss over them”.
