Established in 1989, Gloucestershire Community Foundation (GCF) is an independent charity and one of 46 Community Foundations in the UK. It works with donors to connect funds to local needs, helping to overcome disadvantage in Gloucestershire.
GCF has two main roles; to manage the funds of its donors professionally and to make grants to charities and voluntary organisations in Gloucestershire. Its aim is to build a permanent and sustainable endowment for the communities of Gloucestershire.
During 2015 GCF awarded £262,000 to 108 projects. Its expertise in grant making and in-depth knowledge of local needs means it can target grants very accurately. The charity comprises local experts in connecting those who want to give support with the community organisations that are most in need; it manages and distributes funds getting money to where it really matters - to voluntary groups on the front-line doing vital and life changing work in our local communities.
