MEMBERSHIP-COME AND JOIN US

Thinking about joining us? Are you a Business wanting to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, or are you an active member of the community wanting to make a difference? Then please get in touch!

Our club was formed in 1937 and is made up of members who work together for the good of others through numerous initiatives and fund raising projects. This takes the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" to a level that really makes a difference.

We support a wide range of projects within our local community, working with community groups and our local schools. We also support International Projects such as Rotary Foundation, End Polio Now and Disaster Aid.

Our current monthly schedule of meetings is as follows:
On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tuesdays of the month we meet at Haydock Park Golf Club for Lunch with a speaker on 1st and 3rd weeks. On the second Tuesday we just have a social lunch. Meetings finish at 2.00pm. The second week of the month is also for service committee meetings and these will be held at a venue and time to suit the committee members.

On the 4th Tuesday of the month we hold our Business meeting at Jaydees, Sumner Street, Haydock. We have a Buffet at 6.45pm followed by a 7.15pm start. Committee chairs will report back to the club and proposals will be voted on.

Where there is a 5th Tuesday in the month a social event or other activity will be organised.

We enjoy fellowship together, listen to inspiring speakers, plan activities and keep up-to-date with our community and service projects. We also meet for various other Social, Fund Raising and Community Service events. These will be listed in our events calendar. All our meetings can be found on the meeting and events page of this website.

Attendance is fairly flexible- Each month attend at least the business evening meeting, support our club functions  and join and attend a Club Service committee which meets usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Details are on our "what we do" pages so you have a choice as to which service group you join.

Our major annual events are the beer festival and our Christmas santa sleigh tour where we invite members of local community groups to help us with our fund raising.Rotary is a Dual Gender organisation. We are always looking for new members so if you would like to attend one of our meetings or social events or wish to find out more about what we do, please use either the “Contact” facility at the bottom of this page or e mail membership.nlewrotary@gmail.com
