Currently, pupils either have to play sport outside, in the school hall or travel to other sites.
The intention is that the former Sula Art Gallery to the south-east of the school will be demolished and a 1,306sq. m sports hall built.
Principal Robert O’Brien said the sports hall would have a ‘transformational impact’ on physical education and games and allow classes to be run whatever the weather.
