Our annual Club walk this year is on Monday 22ndAugust, and will take place in Dunsfold, based around the Sun Inn.  We will meet at the Sun, where there is plenty of parking near the pub, with the aim of setting out on the walk at 6.30pm.  This will be a gentle, circular walk towards the Church, past the Holy Well and back round to the pub.  If there has been recent rain, there is one section of the walk which may be slightly damp and muddy, so suitable footwear is advisable.  There is one stile on the route, with two steps to climb over, but it also has a large space below for dogs to pass through.  The stile is about half way on the route, so if it is impassable for anyone, it is possible to retrace one’s steps to the pub in a similar time to the full walk.

In order to avoid too much fragmentation of the whole group, we will gather together on the way round near the ancient yew tree in front of the Church so that the slower walkers can catch up.

The landlady at the Sun has kindly agreed to provide a chicken buffet meal for us.  This will include

Coronation chicken with pecan and apricot

Chorizo Penne pasta with roasted red pepper, pesto and fresh parmesan

Herby new potato salad with a mustard dressing

Spicy couscous with sun dried tomatoes, coriander and lime.

A mixed green salad

The cost of the meal, including a small tip for the pub, will be £9.50 per head.

The pub is dog friendly, and if the weather is suitable we will be able to sit outside.  Obviously, drinks from the bar can be purchased as required.  It is hoped that we will start to eat by about 7.45.
