Woolsack Club awards two new Paul Harris Fellowships.

On 11 July the Club had the honour and privilege of presenting PHF awards to Norman Coward and Carole Andrews for their outstanding humanitarian work in Northern Ethiopia. The citation was prepared and read by member David Kyd who explained how Norman and Carole have been visiting the rural Ethiopian highland communities every three months since 2000 to encourage, train, fund and organise the building of schools, health posts and clean water projects. They have been supported financially in this work by Rotary Clubs, including Godalming Woolsack.

The citation stated that the projects already completed by Norman and Carole include 61 water projects benefitting 31,000 people, 14 Health Posts benefitting 98,000 people and 22 classrooms benefitting 1000 children.

The humanitarian work undertaken by Norman and Carole has had a huge positive effect on these Ethiopian communities and fully exemplifies the Rotary motto of Service above Self. Woolsack is proud to award Norman and Carole with these Paul Harris Fellowships.

In the photograph above, Norman and Carole are joined by club President Seymour Baker and immediate past Chairman of International Service David Kyd.
