On Monday 4th July, Cath Lovell, our Immediate Past President, presented a cheque for £4,000, the majority of the funds raised from Woolsack's 2016 Golf Day, to Pauline Rogers, the Chairman of Woking Mind, which she had chosen as a charity to be supported during her year of office.  Woking Mind, now the only local affiliate in Surrey of the national Mind charity, provides a variety of support services for those with enduring mental health problems, but is also working towards raising awareness of mental health issues in both schools and workplaces.

Pauline Rogers expressed appreciation for this very generous donation and the efforts that had gone into the organisation of Golf Day to provide it.  The main purposes for which this money was intended to be used were to provide training in anger management, in particular for players in the Woking Minders football team, and to help broaden the scope of Woking Mind's current drop-in services, with a view to giving accessibility to many more people who could benefit from such support.
