Glyn Parry is the new President of the Rotary Club of Senlac.  He is determined to continue the Senlac Rotary tradition of helping young people but at the same time not forgetting those at the other end of the age spectrum. Glyn was born in Brighton and joined the Royal Air Force as a Radio Apprentice in 1954. He was commissioned into the Electrical Branch as an electrical engineer in 1964 and served in a variety of postings including 3½ years attached to Naval Air Systems Command in Washington, DC. On his return to the UK he served in the Ministry of Defence as Deputy Director of Weapon Engineering and the Ordnance Board as Head of Air Weapons. Since retiring from the RAF in 1988 with the rank of Group Captain Glyn has worked with British Aerospace Guided Weapons Division and as a self-employed consultant. Glyn joined the Rotary Club of Amwell, Hertfordshire, on his retirement from the RAF and on moving to Bexhill in 2012 he transferred to the Rotary Club of Senlac.

Glyn has been married to Margaret for over 50 years and they have three daughters and three grandchildren. When asked why he had become a Rotarian he said it gave him an opportunity to give something back to society by helping those who are less well off or just need a helping hand; a philosophy he maintains In his spare time as a volunteer at the local Citizens Advice Board.
