President Mairhi Trickett welcomed members to last week's meeting of the Rotary Club when the speaker was Euan Nicholl, Selkirk who attended last July's Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp at Ardeonaig, Killin, Perthsire. RYLA is an intensive leadership and developmental programme for boys and girls, 15 to 17 years of age in physical and intellectual terms for one week. The boys and girls attend each camp separately at the Outdoor Activity Centre and take part in a wide range of activities including canoeing, kayaking, abseiling and rock-climbing in teams as well as presenting lectures to build confidence and self-esteem. Euan gave an excellent illustrated talk on his time at the camp and answered questions at the end after which Robin Mason gave a warm vote of thanks.
