From our President....

As President of Chislehurst Rotary Club, it gives me great pleasure to personally thank all those who will attended last years' Fireworks Display and to the many local businesses who have so kindly and generously donated money once again this year as our sponsors. The money raised at this event goes to truly worthy and needy causes in the Chislehurst community. Chislehurst Rotary is a charity and there are no salaries or office expenses to cover - every penny given to us is donated to a good cause. As well as organising events for both the young and elderly of Chislehurst and Mottingham, in the recent past some of the donations we've made are:

Bromley Womens’ Aid Child Aid
Wave Trust British Heart Foundation
Bromley Mind Asthma UK
Coopers Technology College (Interact) Marjorie McClure School
Royal British Legion NSPCC
MS Society Carers’ Bromley
Bromley Mencap Young Epilepsy
St Cecilias Cheshire Home Bowel Cancer

We donate to International causes and facilitate large scale projects such as sustainable fishing boats in Tanzania and supporting the Zandspruit Sanitation Project. We are also undertaking a new project in Trivandrum (Kerala, India) aimed to help their Institute for Children with Special Needs.    We will continue sending Rotary Shelter Boxes internationally where required to help save the lives of people in countries stricken with disaster, as well as continuing to back the wonderful effort Rotary International has made in the elimination of Polio and Malaria.

Each year Chislehurst Rotary spends hundreds of man-hours organising the largest Firework display in the area and a special and sincere appreciation must go to my fellow Rotarians for their huge efforts once again. We are grateful that JDM, local estate agents, are again sponsoring the ticket production for the fireworks. They have been loyal supporters of this event for many years. The help and contributions of everyone involved is sincerely appreciated and, on behalf of all those that will now benefit, please accept my thanks.
