Imperial Airways Collection

Thu, Oct 22nd 2015 at 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Members and guests attended the collection which is housed in The Goddard Arms.

Testing the seats in the collection.

On arrival at the Goddard Arms, our attentive Rotarians and guests tucked in to a light lunch.

Soon afterwards, our expert and enthusiast Neil Farley began our tour of the collection. Neil has invested a huge amount of time to gather artifacts primarily from Imperial Airways - an airline launched in the early days of commercial aircraft.

The collection covers:

  • documents - brochures, posters, invoices advertisements and so on
  • a replica of part of the original Croydon Airport booking hall, complete with Imperial Airways ticket
  • an inch-perfect facsimile of passenger seating in an HP42 airliner
  • and much more!
You can find much more information on the website of the Imperial Airways Collection.
