Christmas Party Night

Thu, Dec 17th 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Club's annual Christmas Celebration to which partners are invited.

"Crackers and Turkey" were the order of the evening when President Mairhi Trickett welcomed Rotarians and their guests to a Christmas Night at Thorterdykes Roadhouse on 17th December. After a splendid seasonal meal, the company was entertained by some of Hawick's never ending supply of first class singers and entertainers, with Joyce Tinlin starting the entertainment with a beautiful song, although entitled "Crackers and Turkey, its message was the true meaning of Christmas, spiritual rather than gastronomical ! Drew Johnstone, Bernie Armstrong and Michael Aitken then continued the evening's programme with a mix of Christmas and traditional songs, mostly unaccompanied, demonstrating just what talent we have in Hawick. Pat Sutherland joined Joyce in a perfect duet of Celtic Christmas Blessing, and Jane Bannerman read two amusing stories about Nativity Plays in the Yorkshire Dales. President Mairhi gave a Vote of Thanks to all, especially to Past President Bobby Cairns who had persuaded all the artistes to come and make Rotary's Christmas such a great start to the Festive Season
