Thu, Oct 22nd 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Visit to club by District Governor Andy Ireland

President Mairhi Trickett welcomed important guests to last week's meeting of the Rotary Club when she introduced the High School's Head Pupils Katy Templeman and Frazer Towers and the District Governor Andy Ireland.  Katy and Frazer spoke eloquently and competently on their school experiences to date and their ambitions for the future.  The District Governor Andy Ireland, Polmont Rotary Club is Governor of Addiewell Prison and a former international rugby referee.  He attended the convention at San Diego recently with his wife and brought the Rotary message for this year "be a gift to the world" and gave his hopes and expectations for the Rotary year.  Eradicate polio is still a major project and he was pleased to announce that, as of last week, there are now only 51 cases of polio worldwide and the aim is to eradicate it completely.  President Mairhi gave the vote of thanks to all three.  Harald Willner, Kingston-upon-Thames was also a visitor at the meeting.
